Latest Fajr Handicrafts and Traditional Arts Festival has named winners during the closing ceremony in Tehran, Iran.
Six master artisans were commended and 10 received the Golden Cypress award during the closing ceremony of the 2nd Fajr handicrafts and traditional arts event on January 30.
Artisans honored for their achievements include textile expert and designer Afsaneh Modir-Amani, among others.
“In this festival, 200 artisans participated with 400 works. Innovation and creativity, genuineness, quality and design were among the criteria evaluation of the works,” said secretary of the event, Ali Haji-Shizari.
Golden Cypresses were presented to artists such as wood-carver Majed Shahryari and textile designer Sara Hedayat.
The 2nd Fajr Handicrafts and Traditional Arts Festival was held at the Iranian Artists Forum in Tehran.
Fajr Festivals include Fajr Film Festival, Fajr Theater Festival, Fajr Music Festival and Fajr Festival of Visual Arts among others.
